Salt Lake City, UT - Kaysville Mayor Katie Witt clearly won Tuesday’s televised debate by outlining her vision for Reopening Our Economy and Restoring Constitutional Freedoms.
Throughout the debate, Katie Witt was the clear leader on the stage, setting the agenda and direction for the entire debate.
“The #1 issue facing the nation is Reopening Our Economy. I trust people to be able to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. When we have to wait for the government to tell us it’s safe to have our freedoms, we have no freedoms at all,” Witt said, all while Stevenson fought to stay home.
Early in the debate, Katie Witt was the only candidate who took a stand for law and order and showed her clear support for President Trump. Shockingly, Witt was the only candidate who didn’t throw President Trump under the bus.
“President Trump was right to call Antifa a terrorist organization and I support his efforts to keep Americans safe from this type of violence,” Witt said.
On foreign policy, Katie Witt clearly articulated America’s threat and the need to confront China.
“The answer to the question of who is the greatest threat is China. Period. We can’t keep dealing with them the way we always have,” Witt said.
Throughout the debate, Katie Witt showcased herself as the clear choice for conservatives.
“I’m proud to have the endorsements of the American Conservative Union and Susan B Anthony List. They recognize my commitment to our shared conservative principles of protecting life and standing up for our Constitutional freedoms,” Witt said.
Her performance won the support of voters in the first district.
“Katie Witt clearly spoke to my concerns as a conservative, wife, and mother. After this debate, it's obvious Katie will be a great member of Congress. In fact, she’s the only one I could actually see doing the job," said first district primary voter Pam McMurtry.
At the end of the debate, Witt made her stand for Northern Utah clear to all voters.
“I am committed to Preserving Freedom, Expanding Opportunity, and Reigniting Patriotism by being Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, Pro-Trump, and most importantly Pro-YOU. If you want someone in Congress who will always put YOU first, I ask you for your vote and to come be a Pioneer & Patriot with us,” Witt concluded.
